one topic i would like to investigate and learn more about is the street durg referred to as "spice" which is technically a herbal incense, that is sold legally in smoke shops and gas stations.
i want to know exactly how it is made and what the immediate and long term effects of it are. i will also investigate the high that it gives someone.

another topic i would like to investigate is the BP oil spill. i eard about it on the news but never actually took the time to go through it and find out more than just the headlines. i would like to take a deeper look into that topic and see what i can learn about the spill itself and the poor procedures that BP took that led to the spill.

This is about the same time talk of Lebron tradeing teams was rumored, thou everyone thought it was just a hoax, like the one of fellow player Kobe Bryant, who was also asking to be traded before winning a world championship that same year. no one believedhe would leave, especially not the loyal fans of Ohio who had loved him since he became a basketball player. No wonder fans of Ohio reacted the way they did. Burning Lebron's jersey and sneakers pubically, bashing his name and labeling him as a traitor were just a few things that the angry fans did to show thier hatred to their ex-savior.

After Mike Brown was fired, rumors of Lebron also leaving began to circle around the league. Around this same time last year, fellow NBA superstar Kobe Bryant was also we public asking to be trade. he ultimately stayed in LA and won a world championship that same year. Lebron seemed set on leaving, though no one thought he'd actually leave Cleveland, especially not the loyal cavaliers fans who he promised a Championship. so when he actually left, it was no surprise the Cleveland fans were upset and burned his jerseys and sneakers on national television. The fans in Cleveland suddenly hated their ex-savior.

shirt worthy is about a boy who always wanted ramones shirt, and when he asks his father for one on his tenth birthday he wanted to get one from a concert. i like the fact that he said the value of the shirt would be better for him if her were to get it from there as opposed to the one he could get from a store. the best but most tragic part of the memorie is when he finally got the shirt, then ripped it ha ha. it almost seemed as if it were a movie because his dream finally came true, and then he ruins it on the first day. the moral of the story is about rock and roll its self the ripped shirt is just a symbol of how rock and roll is hard core and an experience for all the followers of those bands to go through
the rhetorical devices that were used were the shirt, and the experience receiving that shirt left on the author. the feeling that were involved in having gotten the shirt and the ones from having ripped the shirt. i like how the author brought a different aspect of the shirt by the father saying the shirt was made better because it was ripped. at first i thought it was just something he was saying to make his son feel better, but after thinking the conclusion that the shirt represents rock and roll the memorie came together for me

the Article is about Lebron James new Nike commercial. the commercial is conserversal because it appears as an attack to the Cleveland fans, for their attack on his decision on going to Miami. the thesis statement is that Lebron's commercial was an attack to the fans to try to ask why he is wrong for doing what he did. the article is constructed by braking down his dialogue in the commercial, everything point to him referring to the fans in Cleveland.i think the article is very convincing for a few different reason. one because in the video it shows lebron watching his WITNESS bill board being torn down. this makes it noticeable that the commercial was directed to Cleveland. another reason is because the commercial opened up with a retake of lebron when he made "the decision" to go play in Miami. lastly he asks in the commercial "should i really believe i ruined my legacy?" which only point to the fact that he left Cleveland.

I will incorporate this into my paper because i will try to prove that lebrons legacy is ruined. this video gives an idea of how the fans reacted to him leaving and how they feel about Lebron now that he left them high and dry. i can also use some of the quotes made by lebron in the commercial to strengthen my point i need to make to prove my argument. like no longer having a city to support a powerful legacy

one topic is Lebron's legacy at stake with being traded to the Miami heat i personally think lebron should have stayed in Cleveland, because all the best players ever played their whole careers at the same city. i think if lebron wanted to win the cavs could have easily brought some people around him to win. sell out move i feel, but i don't think any different of him as a player.

another topic is the NFL helmet to helmet contact. i think the protection of the players is necessary but the league cant crack down on these players and take money away because its football. these guys know what they signed up for. the game is based on hard hits and big stops. some of the more obvious ones should be delt wit but when you playing at the speed they are playing at and guys are trying no to get hit, its easy for two helmets to collide.

lastly is the legalization of marijuana. i support this law. i think it will help to get America out of debt and bring some currency to our country. i think this because if you look at all other banned drugs they are all chemically engineered or something done to them. weed is just a plant that has side effects. and also proved to beneficial to health reasons like cancer and arthritis.

Toothpaste- the typical toothpaste tube is about 9 inches in length and has a snap open and nap close top (newer toothpaste tubes.) unopened there is room to squeeze around the thick paste that is inside. upon opening the tube the insides don't squeeze out all that easy and is placed on the head of your toothbrush with intentions on cleaning your teeth.

candy liquid paste- this type of sugary candy come in almost the exact type of tube but is generally about 3 or four inches smaller in length. even the cap is they same, if not used properly the paste will flood the top of the tube and cap making the candy look disgusting and very sticky. the bottle has one or two large words running down the middle of the tube like that for toothpaste companies. yet this paste is probably the worst thing your can have for you teeth, because of its sugary content

I will be evaluating Lil Wayne the rapper. he deserves merit because he is arguably the best and most popular rapper alive today. He makes hit song after hit song, and appears in photos everywhere. all over the Internet, television and magazines. the criteria i will be evaluating him on is as follows.

Public Image- how Lil Wayne is viewed in television, the newspapers, radio, and magazines. do they portray him as a good person? successful at what he does ? with Lil Wayne being on the front of so many magazines do these companies think that highly of him to make him the face of that specific issue? with trouble with the law how is that portrayed by the media?

Fan Base- how large is Lil Wayne's fan base? how does his fan base compare to the fan base of say another top music artist? what are some things his fans say about him? why is it that his fans like him so much? the relationship that Lil Wayne has with his fans and how close his fans are to him?

Record sales- what are his record says upon a new release of an album? how many albums and mix tapes have Lil Wayne released? how many of them went platinum? what is his yearly earnings solely off of record sales.

Variety of listeners- what type of people listen to Lil Wayne's music? is it young kids? or does he have listeners of all ages? is it usually African American people or all races? what are the percentages of each? what is his international listeners like? large amount or no as much?

Back round- who is Lil Wayne really? where did he come from, was his life a struggle, how did he make it? who helped him along his way? who are the people that he keeps around him now? producers, entourage?

this was a qoute from my BBH professor Todd Kula. he works as a football advisor for the football team. the quote refers to Joe Paterno going off on him as he players left the field for exams. this shows a litle of JoePa's enthusasim for his team and practice. a little personality was taken for this quote.

"he was really the man, still is the man. he had mad swag out there, still walking around the same way."
this quote came from Derrick Thomas who plays corner back and nickle for the nittany lion football team. this is what derrick said after watching a video of Joe Pa as a player at Brown University. give me a wanting to look for this video and research Joe Paterno when he was a player. his stats, highlights.

"Oh My God, you met Joe Paterno? Your so lucky!"
this quote came from a kinesology major named Kevin Di Santo. a freshman at Penn State who says he goes to all the football games. this quote shows his legacy as a coach and the fame and Joe Patero represents. I'm guessing i will find hundreds of other students who have similar feelings. maybe some of them will tell me a crazy Joe paterno story. Maybe a funny one.

the author makes sense in trying to point out the harm in being a number one party school. he also tries to point out the problem of alcohol on college campuses especially state school. Penn State is merely the face of the problems he is trying to get across to the audience. the reporter makes note that binge drinking is a major problem in college life and even in high school. he also points out that tail gating and public drinking makes the atmosphere seem to make underage and binge drinking okay to do. i feel that these are accurate claims. the reporter also said the atmosphere at Penn State is inviting and very cultural so its hard to resist doing it with fellow peers. the reporter does a great job of getting quotes and talking to students about specific issues they are trying get across to the audience. i don't like what some of the students were saying about the university. they were kind of bad mouthing the university to the point to make it seem as if they were mad to be here of they never took place in any of the activities. though Penn State parties a lot it is still respected as one of the most priestliest universities in the country. there are a number of college kids here in the middle of no where. they come to college to get an education and to party. some kids do go further than they should when they drink but its not Penn State that's making this happen. they would do this anywhere. the author wants to represent the views of the non college students who live in state college. they families who live here. he wants to represent the people who aren't drunk that watch and are affected by some of the drunk people. my overall feelings about this broadcast is that it shows some of the stuff that goes on on campus, but it makes Penn State seem to be a bad place and an atmosphere where people are drunks and don't get anything done. i feel this is a one sided investigation.

After reading "Shitty First Drafts" by Anne Lamott i agree with her perception of first drafts. i find that in my first drafts I'm not really focused on what, or how good the writing on the paper is as much as i care about laying out the points of my paper. i tend to use my first drafts as a brainstorming device to get my thoughts on the paper.(usually in memoirs and narratives). i like to think of it as Lamott does writing a shitty first draft allows great room for improvement, i don't want my first draft to ready to to handed in. although i don't write a number of drafts. i like to get my first draft out of the way, have everything on my computer screen and dissect it over and over again until i think I've got it. i try not to get hung up on trying to make a number of copies. regarding Lamontt's 7Th paragraph on trusting the process, i think that is something that most writers have in common. it wasn't until my senior year i began to trust the process. my English 12 teacher tough me the steps of the process. he then told me it was okay to jump from step to step. go back to the second step, change your idea etc. this was probably the best advice i received and gave me much more faith in the writing process. i still believe that each writer has their own specific variation of the writing process. for me, i like to get everything out in a free write manor. then for that free write i look over it and make an out line of how i want to portray the narrative. once i have completed that i begin writing another free write corresponding to the outline. (i like to do all of this on paper with a pencil) once i have completed this, if i feel comfortable with the information i have written down i put the piece together. once i have the piece together the way i want it i then worry about punctuation, grammatical errors and sentence structure.
